How to use this free Christmas budget planner (UK)

This free Christmas budget planner for the UK keeps gifts and the extras in one place. Set one overall budget or build it up from your lists, tick gifts off as you go, and see a steady amount to put aside each month or each payday before your chosen date. It runs in your browser with no accounts, and rough numbers are fine.

Step by step

  1. Choose how to set your budget: “Build it up from my lists” or “Set an overall budget”.
  2. Fill in the gift list. Use “Add a person” for each person, then add the gift idea, a budget and what you’ve spent, and tick Bought and Wrapped as you go.
  3. Add everything else: food and drink, decorations, cards and postage, travel, going out and other, each with a budget and a spent figure.
  4. Set a date under “Have it ready by” and add anything already put aside (optional).
  5. Choose how to see the amount: for each month, or for each four-weekly, fortnightly or weekly payday.
  6. Read “Your Christmas at a glance”: budget, spent and left for each part, how many gifts are bought and wrapped, and the steady amount to put aside.

Questions

Can I set one total instead of a budget for each part?

Yes. Choose “Set an overall budget” and enter one figure. The planner still shows what’s planned and spent in your lists against it.

Does it work with weekly or four-weekly pay?

Yes. Under “Show the amount for each”, choose Month, Four-weekly payday, Fortnightly payday or Weekly payday.

Where is my plan kept?

Only in this browser on this device. There are no accounts, and what you type isn’t sent to us. Use Export to make a backup file, or Print for a paper copy.
