How to use this subscription cost calculator (UK)

Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly charges are hard to compare. This free subscription cost calculator for the UK turns each one into a yearly figure, adds them up, and lets you mark each one keep, review or cancel: your choice. It runs in your browser with no accounts, and rough numbers are fine.

Step by step

  1. Find your subscriptions. Bank or card statements, app store accounts and email receipts are good places to look.
  2. Add each one with the quick-add buttons (TV streaming, music streaming, phone contract, gym or classes, cloud storage, apps and more) or type your own name.
  3. Enter the cost and how often it’s charged: weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly.
  4. Read “Your year of subscriptions”: the yearly cost of each one, highest first, and the total for the year.
  5. Mark each one keep, review or cancel. The checker shows the totals by your choices. Changing or cancelling a subscription is done with the provider, not here.
  6. Export, print or clear your list from “Your data” when you’re done.

Questions

How does it work out the yearly cost?

It multiplies each charge by the number of times it falls in a year for the frequency you choose (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly), then adds them up.

Does it cancel anything for me?

No. It doesn’t connect to your bank or any provider. Marking a subscription “cancel” only changes your list; cancelling is done with the provider.

Where is my list kept?

Only in this browser on this device. There are no accounts, and what you type isn’t sent to us. Use Export to make a backup file.
